The Lord is at work in Haiti. Since the last post, two more Arkansas teams have served in Haiti. Heber Springs Baptist Church and North Main, Sheridan.
Since late June, well over 250 Haitians have come to the Lord, many dozens have been trained in evangelism, and several hundred have attended various discipleship classes and services.
We continue to be amazed at the opportunities the Lord presents. Roody Joseph, our Haitian-American serving as coordinator in Haiti, has used private funds to lease seven tracts of land to provide transitional housing for people unable to help themselves at this point. Some seven hundred Samaritan's Purse transitional homes have already been placed, and two hundred more are in process.
A tract with these homes looks like this:
An average of five people live in each of these 12' x 12' homes. We have full access to these seven tracts, all within easy reach of our base in Leogane. We are convinced that the Lord is going to save many, plant congregations, and use these folks in the future as they get on their feet and return to their areas. Missionaries are in the making! Please pray for ABSC churches to respond and serve in Haiti, the leaders and members of the Leogane and Darbone Baptist Churches as we partner with them to plant the gospel, and the residents of these transitional villages.
Would you please pray for these transitional villages by name and the families living in them?

The ABSC has been given fifty of these homes to modify for handicapped and elderly folks who own their own land but whose homes were destroyed. It costs about $1,200 to modify a home with a concrete pad, anchor the home to the pad, wrap it in plywood, and add a door and two windows. Pastor John Cox constructed the prototype home last week, and it was a tremendous success. Here is Lydia, receiving the keys to her new home, from Roody Joseph. She lost her leg on this very spot when her home caved in on her during the January 18 quake.
Junia(below) is a total amputee as a result of the quake. She is 24 years old. Her mother Louise and brother Junior both will be sharing her new home. Junia also lost her father during the earthquake. She said her Father in Heaven sent all these brothers to build her a home. Praise the Lord! Thank you Arkansas Baptists for making this work possible. The picture below the new home is where Junia was living.
In the next several months, several teams will be conducting the following ministries: Evangelism and discipleship, vision/glasses team, medical teams, Children's Ministry, Leader training, and housing for the handicapped and elderly. Please pray for these efforts as they are intended to bring glory only to God. Pray that God brings glory to Himself by causing Voodoo and Satanic strongholds to fall.
Call us if you are interested in serving! The costs are very reasonable and you can be used of the Lord to impact a land that is hungry for the Word.
