Teams on the Ground this week

Robby Tingle and Roger Gaunt of the Missions Ministries Team, along with disaster relief worker Rusty Lynn, have landed in the Dominican Republic. Please pray for this assessment team as they survey several areas where Arkansas Baptists can serve in the most effective way.

The ABSC is sending in a team of nurses, one from FBC Monticello, and the other from Grace BC, Camden. They leave for Les Cayes in Southwestern Haiti on Monday, February 1. We have also been able to assist in flying in thousands of pounds of medicines to Les Cayes, one of many places where refugees are streaming to from the quake's epicenter. The next team is already scheduled.

Arkansas Baptist church members who are medical professionals willing to volunteer are welcome to download the form at www.absc.org/haiti. Personnel must have a valid passport and be self-funded (by their own resources or church, gifts of others, etc.) All disaster relief money given by Arkansas Baptists is slated to use in direct relief of the Haitian people. Trip scholarships are not available.

As we hear more from Arkansas churches involved in Haiti, we will pass that on through the blog. Doug Sarver from FBC Springdale reports two hours ago that he is at the Haiti/Dominican Republic border waiting on delayed medical supplies. Please pray for this. John Caubble from FBC Rogers and their crew are conducting a medical clinic with an established ministry in Port-au-Prince. He reports that they served over 300 families at their Saturday medical clinic. Please pray they touch many lives with the gospel.
