A team of six Arkansas Baptists landed in Port-Au-Prince on Sunday morning. There are four medical personnel and two construction experts from East Side BC, Paragould, FBC Cherokee Village, Mt. Zion BC, Walcott, and Immanuel BC, Little Rock. The medical team saw over 200 patients on Monday. A team member wrote that the nurse practitioner saved the life of a child who was dehydrated, lethargic and septic from an infection! They were able to give initial treatment and moved the child to a local hospital, where he is on IV treatments and doing well. Every person coming to the clinic hears a clear gospel presentation in their heart language. The team member adds, "God is at work touching lives through our smiles and touch."
Today the team reports having seen 134 just on Tuesday morning. The construction men were able to set up a water purification system and have also done some assessment in anticipation of the possibility of future building work. A team of Arizona Baptists is basing at the same location and some of their medical folks have joined the ABSC medical team.
The Concord Baptist Church in Port-Au-Prince is the base for this team's work. The work was established through a partnership between the ABSC, the Dominican Baptist Convention and Baptists in Haiti.
The picture above was taken on Monday, February 22, as the ABSC medical team began work that day. Thanks for your prayers!
Please also pray for FBC Springdale and FBC Rogers and their work in Haiti.
