15 Saved and More News!

Dear Arkansas Baptists,

Your prayers are touching Haiti! Harry Black, on behalf of the Washington-Madison Association team, reports: “I don't know how to try to explain all God is doing. We arrived on Friday evening with no real difficulties. Saturday we worked in the orphanage and did door to door evangelism (afterwards)- one salvation. Sunday morning I got to preach and had a great time. Part of our team did children's ministry during church and it was a big hit! In the afternoon we did water distribution. For the evening, one of our men did a discipleship lesson - that's the latest plan, doing discipleship for the church each evening Sun-Wed. Thurs we will do an evangelistic rally. Today (Tuesday) we did a water distribution in one place and had two salvations. We also arranged to do children's ministry there tomorrow morning. In the afternoon we did water distribution in a different village and did door to door evangelism afterward. We had 6 saved this afternoon. We are about to go to do the next discipleship training. Whew - we are having a blast.”

“Roody wanted me to let you know about a unique opportunity. Two guys from "Fountains of Hope" showed up at the compound today. They have a system that will provide pure water in the villages. Their system hooks to a water tank that can be put in the villages. It will have to be enclosed since it produces chlorine gas, but the system can be built for only $800 worth of materials. Anyway, it looks like a God-send since the current system of trying to provide clean water cannot be sustained.”

On Thursday, November 18, our partner in Haiti, Roody Joseph, reported: “With the help of Fountain of Hope, I was able to secure water purifiers designed to process water for thousands of people in third world country settings. The purifier system uses a chlorinator with dialysis to purify water. The ABSC enabled us to purchase four water tanks and the materials to build the water houses in villages. The Washington-Madison Association team serving in Haiti this week helped design and build the first water house to help secure a 600 gallon tank and the purifier, which is powered by a 12 volt battery. This water house will keep the system safe and secure. Now, one-thousand people living in the transitional village at Darbonne will have clean water.” The other three water houses should be installed soon. Pictures below.

On Friday, Nov 19, I (Bob) am taking a team of three in. Our main ministry is to provide church planting and disciple-making training for Haitian Baptist leaders and select members, all from two local churches. Please pray for wisdom in teaching and that those being taught will grasp and put into practice what they hear. The Lord is at work!

The following Friday, a team made up of members from Faith BC in Quitman and Central BC, North Little Rock, will fly in to hold a week-long vision clinic ministry. They share the gospel with every person who gets their eyes checked. The system they have established enables them to see some 300 patients in a day, if that many show up, and provide corrective lenses for everyone needing them! Please pray for their efforts and thank you all for your wonderful support.
