Voodoo Priest Saved, and More!

Dear Friends The Lord has done some incredible things in the last week and a half. I just received word tonight that a voodoo priest and his wife were saved today! Pastor Fred Oaks of Faith Baptist Church, Quitman, along with a vision and medical team made up of members from his church and Central BC, North Little Rock, is in Haiti this week. The team has a system set up where every person hears the gospel prior to seeing vision and medical personnel. Local beleivers work with the team and do the bulk of the evangelism. When a person is fitted with glasses, the team has that person read from the Bible as they test the prescription! (Pictures below)

Our partner in Haiti, Roody Joseph, writes, “After assisting Pastor Fred in leading the voodoo and mambo priest to the Lord, I counseled with them for about 30 minutes. One of their interesting questions was what to do with the voodoo temple (which is also their home.) My answer was (that) the house is not the problem, but what has been going on in it. I advised them to clean out and burn all the evil fetishes, clean all the walls of satanic images and pictures, and start praising the Lord in it.” Please say a prayer now for this man and his wife, aged 54 and 52 respectively. They came to the clinic to have their eyes checked so they could get some glasses, but ended up having the "scales" removed by God so they could “see” the truth about Jesus. Pray also for their voodoo followers, that they will turn to the Lord as well!

Two daughters of another nearby voodoo priest have been saved since the January 12 quake. Please pray for their father. God is at work in Haiti!

The team saw 610 people on Saturday and 460 people Monday! They worshipped in the Arkansas compound on Sunday due to the elections in Haiti. On November 20-22, a team of three from Arkansas held a discipleship/church planting course at the Arkansas compound in Leogane. Forty-four Haitian believers learned how to start indigenous house churches. The course included instruction on prayerwalking, evangelism, discipleship and church planting. One brother walked 8 ½ hours one-way so he could take the course! Please pray for the efforts of these brothers and sisters as they take the gospel to villages and tent cities all over the area. Please lead your congregation to pray for these teams and those they reach and disciple. Will the Lord start a church planting movement in Haiti? That is our prayer.

Please pray with us. (pictures below) Arkansas Baptists, thank you for your prayers and support! Please: -pray for Roody and the team there now. The enemy is not going to take lightly that the voodoo couple was saved. -pray for many souls to be saved this week. -pray for those that graduated from the seminar last weekend that they will have boldness in the Lord and walk in dependence on the Holy Spirit as they reach out villages in the area.
